It usually works like this:

If You decide to rent the room, You make a down payment (the price for the first night) to guarantee reservation - either You have a friend in Berlin drop by to have a look at the place or You do it via Paypal. Craigslist recommends against all other forms of advance payment and so far Paypal has turned out to be easy, quick and safe for both parties - us and You. Also paypal is free for You, and Your money is insured.

We will then send a sublet agreement as a confirmation to You with all further details, address, tel-nr, directions  etc. - and the reservation is fixed!

Prior to Your arrival You should let us know when to expect You. You just come here, with copies of Your passport and the rest of the money. We will welcome You, sign the contract, You'll get the key, the wifi access code, a "tour" of the place - and You're set.

There's also a fully refundable security deposit (100 for Thorsten's place, 150 for Dagmar's), that You'll get back upon departure - if You leave everything ok and clean.
The whole arrangement is a matter of trust - everything in the flat is accessible to You. Should there be any damages, we will find a solution.
